Privacy notice
How the software handles the data of rental companies and the renters who book with them.
Draft. Written by the product team to describe how the software handles data. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and must be reviewed against Curaçao law (and GDPR where European customers are involved) before launch.
Two roles
For the rental companies that use the platform (our customers), we process account data (names, emails, sign-in records) as the service provider. For the renters who book with those companies, the rental company decides what data is collected and why; we process it on their behalf to run the booking, website and operations software.
What the software stores about renters
- Contact details, bookings, payments made, messages sent, and notes by staff.
- Driver's licence and ID numbers are encrypted; viewing them is permission-controlled and logged. Uploaded identity documents are private files, never public links.
- Card numbers are never stored — payments are taken on the payment provider's own page.
- Inspection photos and signatures, as evidence of the rental.
Access, export and deletion
Rental companies can export everything held about a renter and anonymise a renter's personal data while keeping financial records they are required to keep. Renters should contact the rental company they booked with.
Security
Each company's data is isolated in the database; staff access follows roles; important actions and support access are recorded in an audit log.
